I love filling my grey matter with a variety of factual, speculative facts and fiction.
I am currently reading ‘The Hall of the Gods‘ by Nigel Appleby. The fiction title I am reading is ‘Eruption‘ by Michael Crichton & James Patterson.
What made you want to write?
There wasn’t really a time where I said ‘I am going to write a novel‘, it just happened.
My first attempt followed a period where I was reading dystopian book after book and they gave me the inspiration to write my own nove of that genre. I did start, but alas that particular manuscript hasn’t been worked on for quite a few years.
It was one sleepless night, I am the main carer for my disabled son (He has terrible sleep patterns). I was lying in bed and the idea for Theo Newton came to me. From Summer 2023 to March 2024 I worked on the storyboard, researching the ideas and concepts.
Then started the writing process. I completed and self published the book in July 2024.

What subject did you most enjoy studying at school?
At school I loved the sciences, particularly chemistry, possibly because I enjoyed playing with chemicals and seeing reactions.
At college (16-18 Year) I studied Chemistry, Biology and Geography. It was the latter subject that I found I had an affinity with, this was helped by a couple of fantastic lecturers.
I went to University and did a Geography with Environmental Science Bachelor of Science Degree.
If I had the chance, I would probably would have gone down the Physics route as that I the subject that I love today.
